On Saturday I decided to wear pair of jeans, my new black booties and one of my favorite chiffon blouses. I wore this because I have a scarce amount of clothing back home and I thought it made a good combination. I wore this outfit to go shopping with my mom and sister, people did look at me especially women. During the night we went down town in Riverside to the Dia de Los Muertos celebration, I did not change, I felt too conservative for the occasion because most women were wearing black (including my mother and sister), and no one really had high collars like I did. I have to admit I did feel a bit out of place. I did not receive any comments. I think this plays back on the whole culture thing, the fact that your culture influences who you are. Now I believe that culture also influences how you feel about clothing, after this experience on Saturday.
